The Nightingale and the Rose
This exhibition was held in Dublin's Botanical Gardens, with a theme that pieces should have an association with the gardens.
Looking for inspiration for my exhibition submission, I walked the gardens and upon seeing the sundial, it reminded me of the sad Oscar Wilde story of the Nightingale and the Rose, which I loved.
This is a large piece (750 x 1400 mm), made by wet felting with needle felted detail, then framed against a black background.
